BIOGRAPHY
Vasiliev Nini is an internationally recognized artist whose work has been acquired by collectors worldwide, including Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Devoting his practice chiefly to sculpture, he is noted for disciplined craftsmanship and a refined command of form across marble, stone, bronze, wood, and metal.
His formal training was at the Academy of Fine Arts in Albania, where he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master’s in Monumental Sculpture, graduating with distinction. This rigorous, studio-centered foundation—rooted in classical discipline and advanced practice—continues to shape the scope of his work.
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Nini maintains an active studio practice alongside exhibitions and commissions and serves on the faculty of the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center, where he has taught sculpture and drawing since 2015. Recent highlights include the Cultural Arts Center’s 2025 main-gallery exhibition Experience +2, presenting both sculpture and painting.
Spanning privately collected works and public commissions—including embassy and memorial projects—his portfolio reflects a sustained engagement with scale, from intimate carved forms to monumental pieces, grounded in an exacting, material-forward studio methodology.
